Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

This policy explains how RawHoney.co.uk uses personal information when you browse our website, place an order or contact us.

1. Who we are

Email: [email protected]

2. Information we collect

  • Orders and delivery: your name, email address, billing and delivery addresses, telephone number where provided, products purchased, delivery instructions and order history.
  • Payments: payment references, payment status, amounts, refunds and limited payment-method information supplied by our payment provider.
  • Accounts and contact: account details if you register, messages you send us, and records of enquiries or complaints.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have subscribed to our emails, and records of your consent or request to unsubscribe.
  • Website use: technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, request times, pages requested and cookie identifiers, where collected by the website and its service providers.

Most information comes directly from you or your use of the website. We also receive payment confirmations from Stripe and delivery updates from our delivery providers. If someone sends you a gift, we may receive your name and delivery details from the person placing the order.

3. How and why we use your information

  • To fulfil your order: taking payment, arranging delivery, sending order updates and handling cancellations or refunds. Our legal basis is performing our contract with you, or taking steps you request before entering that contract.
  • To provide an account you request: managing your sign-in and access to order information. Our legal basis is providing that service under our contract with you.
  • To meet legal duties: keeping tax and accounting records and responding to legally required requests. Our legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To run and protect the business: answering general enquiries, investigating problems, preventing fraud, maintaining website security and dealing with claims. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable shop and resolving issues fairly. We consider the effect on your privacy when doing so.
  • To send marketing emails you request: sharing news and offers when you opt in. Our legal basis is your consent.

We need the required contact, delivery and payment details to process an order. Without them, we may be unable to accept or fulfil it. Marketing sign-up is optional.

4. Payments and service providers

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store complete card numbers or card security codes. We do keep the transaction information needed to reconcile payments, issue refunds and maintain our records. Stripe also uses information for payment security, fraud prevention and its own legal obligations; see Stripe's Privacy Policy.

We share relevant information with:

  • Royal Mail and other delivery providers used for your order;
  • website hosting, email, IT support and other providers needed to operate the shop;
  • our accountants, insurers or professional advisers where needed; and
  • public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

The website also loads fonts and supporting files from Google Fonts and jsDelivr. Your browser sends technical request information, such as your IP address, to those providers when loading these files.

We do not sell your personal information. Providers acting on our instructions are required to protect it and use it for the agreed service. Some providers, including Stripe and delivery businesses, also have their own responsibilities for the information they process.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies and similar technologies support features such as your basket, sign-in, preferences and payment security. They may contain identifiers, and some can remain on your device after you close your browser.

[COOKIE DETAILS TO COMPLETE: identify the cookies and other tracking actually enabled, their providers, purposes and lifetimes, and how visitors can make or change any optional choices. State whether analytics or advertising tools are used.]

Where your permission is required for a technology, we ask before using it. You can also remove or block cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the shop or checkout from working.

6. Marketing emails

Placing an order does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. If you opt in to RawHoney.co.uk emails, you can unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier use of your information.

We may keep a minimal record of your unsubscribe request so we can respect it. Order, delivery and other necessary service messages are separate from marketing.

7. Overseas processing

Some providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK. For example, Stripe describes international processing, including in the United States and India, in its privacy policy.

Where we arrange a restricted international transfer, we require a lawful transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. Contact us if you would like details of the safeguards relevant to your information or a copy where available.

8. How long we keep information

  • Order and related financial records: normally six years after the end of the relevant financial year, to support accounting, tax and the handling of claims. We may retain relevant records longer where the law or an unresolved matter requires it.
  • Account information: while the account is in use and needed to provide the service. Closing an account does not require us to delete order records we must retain separately.
  • Enquiries and complaints: for the time needed to resolve the matter and any related follow-up, taking account of applicable legal claim periods.
  • Marketing information: while your subscription and consent remain current, with a minimal suppression record retained if you unsubscribe.
  • Technical records: according to their purpose and configured retention period, with relevant records kept longer if needed to investigate a fault, security incident or claim. Cookie lifetimes are explained in section 5.

We review what we hold and delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information we retain and limit access to people who need it.

9. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your information, correct inaccuracies, have information deleted, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive certain information in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time and object to direct marketing.

Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month; if the law allows additional time, we will explain this. Some information may need to be retained despite a deletion request, for example to meet a legal obligation.

10. Questions and complaints

You can raise a privacy concern or complaint by emailing us or writing to the address in section 1. We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days, investigate promptly, keep you informed and explain the outcome without unnecessary delay.

You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office. Visit the ICO's complaints page.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or use of information change. The date above shows the latest revision. Where a change needs a separate notice or your consent, we will provide it.
